[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 1st that it conducted a one-day simulation training to prepare for the COVID-19 vaccination starting on the 15th.
On the afternoon of the same day, the county held a COVID-19 vaccination simulation training at the vaccination center set up in the gymnasium, together with related organizations such as the fire department, military units, and police.
About 60 people participated in the training, including nurses, doctors, administrative staff, and health center employees selected as vaccination targets.
The participants prepared for all possible situations during the vaccination process, from the pre-registration waiting stage to emergency response in case of adverse reactions.
In particular, they checked proficiency in storage, thawing, dilution, and dispensing of the Pfizer vaccine, and thoroughly inspected each step including waiting for vaccination, vaccination, and vaccination implementation.
They also formed an emergency rescue team to prepare for severe adverse reactions and conducted training assuming various situations.
Currently, Sancheong-gun has equipped the indoor gymnasium vaccination center with necessary items such as an ultra-low temperature freezer for vaccine storage and a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) to prepare for power outages. In addition, education for vaccination center operating personnel is also being conducted.

A health center official said, “Starting with the simulation training, we will improve the work proficiency of workers in each zone and address shortcomings of the vaccination center,” adding, “We will do our best to ensure that the vaccination of seniors aged 75 and over, which will proceed sequentially from the 15th, is carried out safely.”
