View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] An incident occurred in which a local employee at Shinhan Bank's Yangon branch in Myanmar was shot. Shinhan Bank temporarily closed the branch and ordered all employees to work from home.
According to Shinhan Bank on the 1st, around 5 p.m. the previous day, a Yangon branch employee was shot while returning home using a shuttle vehicle for commuting and was injured. The employee was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Due to this incident, Shinhan Bank raised the crisis level to stage 3 and temporarily closed the Yangon branch to ensure the safety of local employees and expatriates. All employees have switched to working from home.

A Shinhan Bank official stated, "We are considering the phased withdrawal of expatriates," and added, "Essential services for Yangon branch customers will be supported by the head office, Shinhan Bank Korea."
