Google Officially Confirms Absence from June MWC Barcelona
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Google will not participate in the world's largest mobile exhibition, 'Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2021,' held in Barcelona, Spain, this June.
According to the US IT media The Verge on the 31st of last month (local time), Google announced that it will not prepare an offline exhibition hall for this year's MWC.
In an official statement, Google said it decided not to attend this year's MWC Barcelona due to the COVID-19 situation and expressed hope to participate in next year's event as it is working closely with the organizer, the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA).
So far, besides Google, Nokia, Ericsson, Sony, and Oracle have also officially announced their absence from this year's MWC Barcelona.

Earlier, GSMA announced that this year's MWC will be held as an in-person event in Barcelona, Spain, from June 28 to July 1.
