Hamyang-gun Bowling Alley and Public Sports Facilities Emerge as a Sports Hub
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 31st, it was announced that the sports infrastructure expansion project being promoted in Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam is gradually taking shape one by one.
In addition to existing sports facilities such as the comprehensive stadium, Goun Gymnasium, and National Sports Center, the second phase of the Hamyang Sports Park construction project is being actively promoted, contributing not only to the leisure activities and health improvement of the residents but also firmly establishing itself as a mecca for training camps in the southern inland region.
The Hamyang Sports Park construction project is one of the large-scale sports infrastructure projects with a facility area of 210,480㎡ and a total project cost of 33.3 billion KRW (13.3 billion KRW from the national government and 20 billion KRW from local government).
The first phase of the project, which has been promoted since 2016, was completed in October 2020 with a budget of 14.9 billion KRW, including two soccer fields, a jokgu field, parking lot, main stand, and basic facilities.
The second phase plans to build a multipurpose gymnasium, archery range, baseball field, etc., by 2024 with a budget of 18.8 billion KRW (7.5 billion KRW national funds, 11.3 billion KRW local funds).
The county operates a total of 54 public sports facilities across 11 towns and townships, including two comprehensive stadiums, two indoor gymnasiums, six soccer fields, seven jokgu fields, 20 gateball courts, five tennis courts, and 12 other facilities.
