Man in his 30s Wearing Electronic Ankle Bracelet Urgently Arrested for Sexual Harassment of Woman
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] A sex offender wearing an electronic tracking device (electronic anklet) was urgently arrested for committing a similar crime.
On the 31st, Gwangju Dongbu Police Station announced that they have detained and are investigating a man in his 30s, Mr. A, on charges including forcible molestation.
Mr. A is accused of stalking a woman and forcibly molesting her on the stairs of a one-room building in Sansu-dong, Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, at around 4:20 p.m. the previous day.
It was revealed that Mr. A committed the crime after stalking the victim and noticing that there were no people around on the day of the incident.
However, when a resident of the one-room building witnessed the crime scene, Mr. A fled but was caught about three hours later in an empty house near his residence.
Mr. A has a history of being punished for sex crimes and was recently released from prison, after which he was ordered to wear an electronic anklet.
