Police Raid Gunpo City Hall...Related to 'Speculation Allegations' Public Official (Update)

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] The police have launched a forced investigation into a public official at Gunpo City Hall, Gyeonggi Province, who is suspected of speculation after purchasing plots in a public housing district.
The Special Investigation Unit for Real Estate Speculation Crimes of the Southern Gyeonggi Provincial Police Agency began a search and seizure operation at Gunpo City Hall and other locations from 9:30 a.m. on the 31st.
Earlier, Gunpo City requested a police investigation after allegations arose that one senior public official, along with four acquaintances, purchased two plots in the Daeyami Public Housing District in September 2016 and made several hundred million won in profits through compensation. The official was reportedly the head of the district unit team at the time.
