Jeonnam Province Urges Restraint in Spring Outings and Compliance with Quarantine Rules
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province has urged people to refrain from spring outing trips and to comply with quarantine rules.
The province announced on the 29th that it will implement special quarantine measures for spring outings until April 30.
It strongly recommended refraining from group and long-distance travel and avoiding crowded places.
This special quarantine measure is a step to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in advance, as quarantine fatigue has accumulated due to the prolonged pandemic and outdoor activities increase during spring.
According to the province's recommendations, when traveling individually, it is best to use a personal vehicle, travel with family, go to nearby places, and preferably make it a day trip.
Group travel should be avoided as much as possible, but if unavoidable, a representative or leader must be designated as a quarantine manager to ensure responsible quarantine management.
The quarantine manager must inform participants of the quarantine rules in advance, check for symptoms among participants, and monitor compliance with the rules.
When operating charter buses for group tours, passenger lists (QR codes) must be managed, and basic quarantine rules such as wearing masks at all times and maintaining at least 1 meter distance must be strictly followed.
In particular, eating, dancing, or singing on the bus is prohibited, and violations will result in fines or penalties according to relevant laws.
Transparent partitions must be installed on tables in rest area restaurants and cafes, visitor logs must be maintained, and visitors should stay only for the minimum necessary time to reduce contact between people.
On major trails in natural parks, recreational forests, amusement parks, and tourist sites, a minimum distance of 1 meter between people must be maintained, restricted access paths should be installed, one-way routes operated, and the use of large bus parking lots discouraged.
Accommodation facilities should operate on a reservation basis, and cable cars are recommended to operate with passenger capacity limited to 50% or less.
After returning home, individuals must monitor their health condition, and if they have symptoms such as fever, loss of smell or taste, muscle pain, or suspect infection, they must get tested and avoid going out or visiting multi-use facilities.
Kang Young-gu, Director of Health and Welfare Bureau of Jeonnam Province, said, “The tension may loosen due to spring outings, leading to a rapid increase in COVID-19 cases. We ask residents to refrain from outings and travel such as meetings with family and acquaintances and to strictly follow quarantine rules.”
