Police Launch Intensive Crackdown on 'Foreign Organized Crime' Including Group Violence from April to June

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] The National Police Agency's National Investigation Headquarters announced on the 29th that it will conduct a focused crackdown on foreign organized crime for three months from the 1st of next month until the end of June.
This crackdown is being promoted to reduce public anxiety following incidents of collective violence by foreigners in Gimhae, Gyeongnam, and Hwaseong, Gyeonggi, and to preemptively block the organization of international crime.
The main targets of the crackdown are foreign groups involved in collective violent acts at the level of criminal organizations and foreign organizations operating illegal markets such as gambling dens and drug distribution.
Additionally, the crackdown will target immigration-related criminal organizations involved in smuggling, stowaways, false refugee applications, and illegal employment mediation, as well as organized crimes including online currency exchange fraud, illegal importation of pharmaceuticals, and foreigner prostitution.
