According to Seo-gu Council on the 28th, from the 24th to the 26th, Seo-gu council members protested in densely populated areas, condemning the local situation where the Myanmar military junta is carrying out civilian oppression and massacres following the coup d'?tat.
Council members Oh Gwanggyo, Jeon Seungil, Go Kyungae, and Jeong Wooseok held pickets and distributed flyers to citizens, condemning the military coup that destroyed the lives and dignity of the people, while urging the cessation of anti-democratic acts. They also expressed support for the movement to restore democracy.
The protesting council members stated, “It has been confirmed that about 300 people have been killed by gunfire from the military and police,” and added, “The brutal massacre by the military, reminiscent of the May 18 Gwangju Democratization Movement, is an inhumane act that must never be tolerated.”
