Doosan Infracore Launches Ultra-Large 100t-Class Excavator Globally Simultaneously... Major Order Success
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyewon] Doosan Infracore has completed the development of its largest model in the product lineup, the 100-ton class excavator (model name DX1000LC), and simultaneously launched it in global markets. Doosan Infracore announced on the 28th that it also signed orders in Mongolia and Chile at the start of sales.
This product is a flagship model that incorporates Doosan Infracore's latest technology and premium specifications. It is the first product to be launched simultaneously in advanced markets such as Europe and North America, as well as in Korea, China, and emerging markets through a global platform strategy. The global platform strategy standardizes key components such as the engine and chassis on a platform, adding parts and performance tailored to market characteristics. This advanced production method allows for quick and flexible responses to the unique features of each market worldwide.
The maximum bucket capacity of this product is 6.80㎥, approximately 1.2 times larger than the bucket capacity (5.58㎥) of the previously largest 80-ton class excavator (DX800LC). Compared to the most sold 5-ton class excavator in Korea (DX55-5K, bucket capacity 0.175㎥), it is about 40 times larger in size.
In particular, this product offers improved fuel efficiency and optimized operational performance with lossless power and speed even under harsh working conditions such as mines, through an electronic integrated hydraulic system and the independently developed fuel efficiency optimization system called 'Smart Power Control.' It applies world-class engine after-treatment technology to meet Europe's Stage 5 emission regulations and the US Tier 4 Final emission standards, ensuring environmental friendliness.
Additionally, it incorporates advanced durability design techniques, an intelligent boom function that mitigates operational shocks applied to the equipment, and AVM (All-around View Monitoring) that provides a 360-degree view around the equipment, maximizing durability and safety. The advanced Internet of Things (IoT) solution 'Doosan Connect,' which remotely monitors the location, operational status, and key component conditions of construction equipment, is provided as a standard service, enhancing maintenance convenience.
Along with the launch of the new 100-ton class excavator, order news has followed from Chile and Mongolia. A mining company in Chile, which operates a total of 30 Doosan Infracore machines and is a major customer highly satisfied with Doosan Infracore's large equipment, ordered one unit. This 100-ton class excavator will be deployed in a copper mine in Chile. In Mongolia, two units each of the 100-ton class and 80-ton class excavators were ordered. The company operates large-scale gold and iron mines in Mongolia and is a new customer this time.

The global market size for ultra-large excavators is about 1,000 units annually, with quarries, mines, and large construction companies as major customers. A Doosan Infracore official said, "The excellent competitiveness of the previously launched 80-ton class excavator has attracted attention from ultra-large equipment customers," adding, "With the launch of this model, we will further strengthen the profitable ultra-large lineup and solidify our leading position in the market."
