Suspect in 'Three Mothers Murder' Regains Consciousness After Surgery... Investigation Scheduled for Next Week
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] A man in his 20s who killed three women in a mother-daughter relationship and attempted self-harm at an apartment in Nowon-gu, Seoul, has woken up after surgery. The investigation is expected to take place as early as next week.
According to the police on the 27th, the Nowon Police Station in Seoul plans to investigate Mr. A, a man in his 20s, on charges of killing three women in a mother-daughter relationship at an apartment in Junggye-dong, Nowon-gu. Mr. A visited the apartment on the 23rd, killed the victims, attempted self-harm, and was transported to a nearby hospital.
Mr. A completed surgery the previous evening and is currently regaining consciousness and recovering. The police plan to start a full investigation after consulting with medical staff to confirm whether Mr. A is in a condition to be questioned.
The police have obtained an arrest warrant and a warrant to seize Mr. A’s mobile phone. Additionally, to clarify the exact circumstances of the incident, they plan to request digital forensic analysis of the mobile phone from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. The victims’ bodies have been autopsied at the National Forensic Service.
It is known that Mr. A was acquainted with the eldest daughter who died. On the 25th, the police responded to a report from an acquaintance of the victims stating that "a friend could not be contacted," but when they arrived at the scene, the three women were already deceased. A weapon presumed to be the murder weapon was also found at the scene.
