On the afternoon of the 25th, A (59), B (24), and C (22), a mother and her two daughters, were found dead in an apartment in Junggye-dong, Nowon-gu, Seoul. The police responded to a report from an acquaintance of the victims who said, "I can't reach my friend," and discovered the three deceased inside the apartment.
Also, a man in his 20s, D, was found at the scene with serious self-inflicted injuries and was transported to the hospital. It is understood that D killed the three women and then attempted self-harm.
On the afternoon of the 26th, when the incident became known, residents gathered at the apartment complex where the press visited, expressing disbelief and saying, "The incident itself is too horrific" and that they could not understand it at all.
Additionally, police lines were set up in front of the house where the three women lived to prevent public access, showing that it was no longer a home but a horrific crime scene.

On the afternoon of the 26th, Kim, a security guard in his 70s working at the apartment, said, "I was not on duty the day of the incident, so I don't know the face of the murderer or any specifics," adding, "I don't recall anyone entering with the intent to commit a crime during my shift. Everyone seemed ordinary." He continued, "They were just normal residents; who would have thought they would do such a thing?" showing his bewilderment.
A woman in her 30s who was with an elementary school child said, "I am not telling the kids about the incident because I’m afraid they might find out," and briefly added, "It's so horrific that I can't even speak."

Meanwhile, a woman in her 70s returning home after recycling said, "The three women are so pitiful, they really seemed so harmonious and close..." showing her sorrow.
Amid the residents' anger and sadness, a female acquaintance of the victims claimed that the perpetrator being the eldest daughter's boyfriend and that the incident stemming from a romantic relationship is not true.
The female acquaintance told the media that the perpetrator, D, met B through an online game, later unilaterally wanted to date her, and after being rejected, harbored resentment and apparently committed this crime.
