Muan-gun to Accept Additional Applications from Farmers and Fishermen Who Missed Applying for Public Interest Allowance

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 26th that it will accept additional applications at each eup and myeon office until the 9th of next month for farmers who missed applying for the farmers' public interest allowance.
Eligible applicants are farmers who are heads of management entities registered with agricultural and fishery management information, have had an address in Muan County for at least one year prior to the application year, and are actually engaged in agriculture and fisheries.
However, those with comprehensive income other than agriculture and fisheries exceeding 37 million KRW, those who have fraudulently received subsidies such as direct payments, public officials and employees of public institutions, those who have been penalized for violations of the Farmland Act, Mountainous Area Management Act, Livestock Epidemic Prevention Act, or Fisheries Act, and those who share residence with eligible heads of management but separate households will be excluded from the payment.
The payment amount is 600,000 KRW per person annually and will be fully paid in the first half of the year through Muan Sarang Gift Certificates.
Governor Kim San said, "We are accepting additional applications for farmers who missed the allowance application, so eligible persons should be sure to apply within the deadline," and added, "We expect this public interest allowance payment to help small business owners and self-employed people struggling due to COVID-19."

Meanwhile, since the 15th, Muan County has been sequentially paying about 6 billion KRW to 10,068 eligible recipients to stabilize the livelihoods of farmers and fishermen and revitalize the local economy.
