Minister Han's on-site visit was accompanied by Governor Lee Cheol-woo, National Assembly member Im I-ja, Sangju Mayor Kang Young-seok, and Daegu Regional Environmental Office Chief Lee Young-gi.
Governor Lee Cheol-woo proposed to Minister Han project businesses utilizing regional potential (120 billion KRW for Yeongyang Eco Village creation) and essential projects for public stability (28.4 billion KRW for sewage system maintenance upstream of Yeongcheon Dam, 17 billion KRW for maintenance of aged water purification plants in Gyeongsan).
The main proposed projects are ▲ Creation of Yeongyang Clear Night Sky Eco Village (total project cost 12 billion KRW) ▲ Maintenance of village sewage system upstream of Yeongcheon Dam (total project cost 28.4 billion KRW) ▲ Maintenance of aged water purification plants in Gyeongsan (total project cost 17 billion KRW).
The National Nakdong River Biological Resources Center, visited by Minister Han on this day, is a representative ecological research and viewing institution in the northern region and is considered a must-visit attraction when visiting Gyeongbuk.
