Chonnam National University Hospital Obtains Research Subject Protection Program Certification for the First Time in Gwangju and Jeonnam
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Jeonnam National University Hospital announced on the 26th that it has obtained the Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) certification for the first time in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions.
The HRPP certification is a policy continuously promoted by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety to strengthen the quality and ethics of clinical trial institutions. According to the five-year comprehensive plan for drug safety management implemented from last year through 2024, support is provided for the introduction and expansion of HRPP operations.
Jeonnam National University Hospital earned this honor as a result of its efforts to ensure the safety, management, protection, and welfare improvement of participants in clinical trials since the establishment of the Human Research Protection Regulations in 2016.
Following its selection in December 2016 as an institution conducting education for clinical trial coordinators, Jeonnam National University Hospital expanded its educational scope to include investigators, IRB members, and administrative staff, thereby further contributing to the protection of research participants' rights and interests.
