Choi Byung-min, CEO of Clean Country, and Others Awarded for Distinguished Tax Payment
Seong Jang-hyun, Yongsan District Mayor, Commends 10 Outstanding Taxpayers ...Selected to Foster a Mature Tax Payment Culture
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seong Jang-hyun, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, presented commendations to meritorious taxpayers in his office on the 25th.
This was in accordance with the ‘Seoul Metropolitan City Yongsan-gu Meritorious Taxpayer Support Ordinance.’
This year, the district selected 10 meritorious taxpayers, and at the award ceremony, Mayor Seong personally presented commendations to five attendees: Kim Jae-seok, CEO of PJ Electronics; Choi Byung-min, CEO of Kkaekkeut Hannara; Kim Chang-won, CEO of Yooyoung Silk; Ye Chan-yu, CEO of Yes Trading; and Park Han-sang, Vice Chairman of KBI Group.
The remaining five recipients will be sent their commendation certificates by mail.
The criteria for selecting meritorious taxpayers are ▲ individuals or corporations with no local tax arrears in the past 10 years and who have paid two or more local taxes annually for over eight years within the payment deadline in full ▲ individuals or corporations with an address or business location within the district ▲ those whose annual local tax payment amount is at least 5 million KRW for corporations and 2 million KRW for individuals.
The selections were reviewed by the district’s Local Tax Deliberation Committee and the Public Merit Review Committee.
Meritorious taxpayers will receive benefits such as exemption from parking fees for one vehicle at public parking lots operated by the district for one year, exemption from local tax audits conducted by the district for three years, and opportunities to participate in various events hosted by the district.
Seong Jang-hyun, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, said, “On behalf of 300,000 residents, I express deep gratitude to the meritorious taxpayers,” adding, “We will create a culture where those who faithfully pay taxes are respected.”
