Gangbuk-gu Operates Smart Disaster Cooperation Response System...Sharing On-Site Situations During Disasters
Real-time Sharing of On-site Situations During Disasters Using Smartphone Apps... Expected to Enable Swift Disaster Response and Efficient Support Measures
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Kyum-soo) will continuously operate the ‘Gangbuk Smart Disaster Cooperation Response System’ utilizing advanced information and communication technology (ICT) to strengthen disaster response capabilities.
The system was established to respond quickly to disaster situations and to devise more efficient support measures.
The district operates the system using a specially developed smartphone application. Currently, 135 personnel from the district’s Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, 13 community service centers, and related organizations have access rights to the system.
In the event of a disaster, they share real-time on-site situations through multi-party video transmission, radio communication, telecommunication, and chat.
To ensure smooth use of the system, the district conducts regular monthly inspections with the responsible personnel from the user organizations.
Additionally, in the second half of the year, training will be provided to general managers of each department, and a system experience workshop will be held for new users.
In May 2019, the district became the first in the nation to introduce the smart disaster cooperation system during a comprehensive fire response drill at multi-use facilities related to the Eulji Taeguk exercise. In August of the same year, a system agreement ceremony was held with seven disaster-related organizations including Gangbuk Police Station, Gangbuk Fire Station, the 2nd Battalion of the 220th Regiment of the 56th Army Division, Northern Road Office, Northern Waterworks Office, Korea Electric Power Corporation Gangbuk Seongbuk Branch, and Daeryun E&S. In November, the system was used to conduct a comprehensive fire response drill during the Disaster Response Safety Korea Training.
