Guro-gu Supports Participation Fees for Companies Attending Overseas Exhibitions
KOTRA Overseas Trade Centers Act as Local Branches for SMEs Struggling with Independent Overseas Expansion... 10 Companies Selected for a Total Support of 15 Million KRW... Apply via District Office Economic Department Visit or Mail
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) is providing participation fee support to companies participating in the Overseas Branch Establishment Project.
Guro-gu stated on the 25th, "Export companies in the region are facing difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic," and "We will support companies participating in the Overseas Branch Establishment Project conducted by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA)."
The 'Overseas Branch Establishment Project' is a program where KOTRA's overseas trade offices act as local branches on behalf of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that find independent overseas expansion difficult.
It assists with export contracts, participation in exhibitions and consultation meetings, brand promotion, establishment of local corporations, and provides warehouse and logistics consulting through the use of joint logistics centers.
This year, Guro-gu will select about 10 local companies participating in KOTRA's Overseas Branch Establishment Project and support 50% of their participation fees (up to 1.75 million KRW). Support is available once per company per year and limited to one trade office.
Companies that benefited in 2020, those who withdrew midway, companies that received support from other institutions for the same trade office, and companies with overdue national or local taxes are excluded.
Companies wishing to participate should prepare a business registration certificate, application form, company introduction, etc., and apply by visiting the district office's Regional Economy Division or by mail.
Applications may close early if the budget is exhausted. For more details, refer to the district office website.
