Jung Wook, CEO of Neptune, Leads FriendsGames
[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] FriendsGames, a subsidiary of Kakao Games, has appointed Jung Wook, CEO of Neptune, as its new CEO.
FriendsGames announced that this decision was made at the shareholders' meeting and board of directors held on the 25th.
The new CEO Jung previously served as CEO of NHN Hangame and has been the CEO of Neptune since 2012. Jung will also concurrently serve as CEO of Neptune.
CEO Jung stated, "FriendsGames plans to undertake new initiatives such as the metaverse (a 3D world where reality and virtual coexist) and NFTs (non-fungible tokens), which are key topics in the industry, so that FriendsGames can overcome the limitations of the domestic casual industry and achieve a new leap forward."
A FriendsGames official explained, "CEO Jung is an expert with professional insight and experience in the gaming market," adding, "He will contribute to expanding FriendsGames' influence as a specialized game developer in the global market."
