Jinju Bathhouse and Geoje Daycare 'Infection Spread'... Gyeongnam Province Reports 27 New Cases in Two Areas (Comprehensive)

As of 1:30 PM on the 25th, the cumulative confirmed cases in Gyeongnam region total 2,808.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced that as of 1:30 PM on the 25th, 27 new confirmed cases occurred since 5 PM the previous day. The new cases by region are 15 in Jinju City and 12 in Geoje City.

Among the confirmed cases in Jinju, 6 are related to the Jinju bathhouse cluster, testing positive and classified as numbers 2785, 2798~2802. This brings the cumulative confirmed cases related to the Jinju bathhouse to 232.

Five people who had contact with confirmed cases in the province tested positive and were classified as numbers 2803~2807. Four people who voluntarily requested testing also tested positive and were classified as numbers 2808~2811. The infection routes are under investigation.

Among the confirmed cases in Geoje, 4 are related to Geoje entertainment establishments and companies, testing positive and classified as numbers 2786, 2787, 2789, and 2790. Number 2790 was confirmed to be a worker at a Geoje shipyard. This brings the cumulative confirmed cases related to Geoje entertainment establishments and companies to 156.

The other 8 cases were classified as numbers 2788, 2791~2797. Except for number 2797, the remaining 7 were all confirmed to be related to a daycare center in Geoje.

On the previous day (24th), the quarantine authorities tested a total of 36 people including daycare center staff, children, and their families. The test results confirmed 29 negative cases except for 7 positives. Additional testing for family members and contacts will also be conducted.
