Naju-si to Begin Pfizer Vaccinations for Those Aged 75 and Older Starting Next Month
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Han-hyuk] Naju City, Jeollanam-do is thoroughly preparing for COVID-19 vaccination for citizens aged 75 and older.
According to the city on the 25th, the COVID-19 vaccine will be Pfizer, with the first dose scheduled for mid-next month. The vaccination target is 13,278 people born on or before December 31, 1946 (aged 75).
Residents who have difficulty walking or riding in vehicles or have serious underlying diseases are excluded from the vaccination target, and a separate guide will be provided for vaccination methods other than visiting the vaccination center.
The city plans to designate target individuals by schedule according to the government's vaccine allocation plan after pre-collecting vaccination consent forms through coordination between the town, township, and neighborhood staff and community leaders.
The vaccination center is set up at the Naju Sports Park Multipurpose Gymnasium, and to accommodate elderly residents with mobility difficulties, transportation support by town, township, and neighborhood will be provided.
In addition, the city will ensure thorough post-vaccination management, including regular monitoring through phone calls and visits to check for adverse vaccine reactions, and establishing a rapid transfer system with emergency medical institutions.
Recently, the city completed 100% of the first dose of AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine for 2,692 people, including residents and workers at 28 nursing hospitals and facilities and 3 high-risk medical institutions.
The second dose of AstraZeneca vaccine has been underway since the 23rd for 2,428 people at a total of 30 nursing hospitals, facilities, and psychiatric medical institutions, with a second-dose vaccination rate of 19.3% as of the previous day.
