A Man in His 40s Cut Off Electronic Ankle Bracelet and Fled in Downtown Seoul, Caught After 4 Hours

According to the Seodaemun Police Station in Seoul on the 25th, A (41), who was ordered to wear an electronic anklet for five years after his release in August 2018, cut off the device and ran away at 3:56 p.m. on the 24th. He was caught by the police, who responded to a report, at 8:15 p.m., about four hours later, on the rooftop of a building in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul. It was reported that A was self-harming with a weapon at the time of his capture.
The police, who responded to a report from the probation office, confirmed that A was not at his residence in Nokbeon-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, and tracked his location by securing a mobile phone he had left at a subway station.
