NKMAX Presents Smart Manufacturing Process at Innate Killer Summit: "Key to Commercialization"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] NKMAX announced on the 25th that it introduced the smart manufacturing process, a core technology for the commercialization of allogenic NK cell therapies, at the Innate Killer Summit 2021.
The Innate Killer Summit is a leading innate immunology conference where professors in the NK cell therapy field, researchers from the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH), and representatives of global pharmaceutical companies gather to share the current status of technology. It is held annually in San Diego, USA. This year, it is being held online from the 23rd to the 25th (U.S. local time).
NKMAX also introduced its ‘SuperNK’ culturing technology at this conference in 2019. This is their second attendance. Stephen Chen, who gave the presentation at the conference, previously served as the head of immuno-oncology drug manufacturing at Kite Pharma and ARMO BioSciences, and is currently the CTO (Chief Technology Officer) of NKMAX’s U.S. branch.
Stephen Chen delivered a presentation titled “Overcoming Manufacturing Challenges to Develop Clinical and Commercial NK Cell Therapies.”
He stated, “SuperNK is an immuno-oncology drug that enhances the cancer cell-killing ability of NK cells and is mass-expanded; currently, seven clinical trials are underway. Although all are Phase 1 trials, we have introduced the ‘Insight68’ system, which databases the entire clinical process to systematically manage the manufacturing process and productization of NK cell therapies.”

He continued, “‘Insight68’ is a smart system that can track and manage all processes of clinical trials from patient blood collection to clinical schedules, manufacturing processes, and productization. In the future, when allogenic NK cell therapies are commercialized, it will enable transparent and systematic management of large-scale manufacturing and production processes.”
