View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Jang Seok-woong, Superintendent of Education for Jeonnam, issued a statement on the 24th welcoming the passage of the Korea Energy Engineering University (KEPCO Tech) Special Act through the National Assembly.
On this day, Superintendent Jang said, "I hope KEPCO Tech will leap forward as a global prestigious university that stands shoulder to shoulder with the world's leading engineering universities beyond Korea."
He added, "With the enactment of the Special Act as an opportunity, I hope KEPCO Tech, which is a long-cherished wish of all of us, will open normally next year and elevate Jeonnam and Naju as a mecca for next-generation energy research, development, and talent cultivation, bringing new hope to our children."
Superintendent Jang emphasized, "KEPCO Tech will be a cradle for nurturing future talents in the energy sector responding to the 4th Industrial Revolution and climate change," and added, "I hope the talents produced through top-level energy-specialized education will grow into pillars that lead the national industry and regional economy."
Furthermore, he said, "The Jeonnam Office of Education will also devote all efforts to cultivating technical talents in the energy field equipped with future capabilities," and reiterated, "To this end, we will relocate Jeonnam Science High School in Geumcheon, Naju, to within Booyoung CC adjacent to KEPCO Tech, maximizing educational effects by sharing research facilities and human resources with KEPCO Tech."
