[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is providing masks to seniors aged 65 and over to prevent COVID-19 infection and raise awareness, following recent cluster infections centered around senior acquaintances' gatherings.
From the 16th to the 22nd of last month, the district mailed 10 masks (5 KF94 masks and 5 KF80 masks) to approximately 49,200 seniors aged 65 and above in the area.
For seniors who have difficulty accessing information online, a letter containing quarantine guidelines was enclosed along with the masks.
The letter included cases of infections among acquaintances and families to raise awareness, as well as information on fines and administrative measures imposed for violating quarantine rules.
Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, stated, “Strong administrative actions such as administrative measures, fines, and investigation requests are being taken against violations of quarantine rules, including private gatherings of five or more people. To prevent infections within families, at least one person per household must get tested, and if symptoms appear, please get tested immediately.”
