View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] It has been revealed that Seok (48), the biological mother of a 3-year-old girl found dead in a house in Gumi, Gyeongbuk, searched for childbirth-related information on her mobile phone before giving birth. Previously, Seok had raised doubts about the DNA test results and had completely denied giving birth.
According to a report by 'Kyunghyang Shinmun' on the 24th, the police found that Seok searched for numerous childbirth-related terms such as "preparing for childbirth" and "self-delivery" on her phone around the time her delivery was imminent in 2018.
The police also confirmed that Seok ordered several childcare products from an online shopping mall at that time, and it was revealed that she wore larger-sized clothes than usual around January to March of the same year, which is the estimated time of childbirth.
However, it is said to be difficult to definitively conclude these facts as "evidence of childbirth" by Seok. This is because Seok's biological daughter, Kim, also gave birth around the same time in the same year.
On the afternoon of the 17th, Mr. Seok was being transported in a police escort vehicle at the Gumi Police Station in Gyeongbuk. On that day, the police added charges of attempted corpse abandonment to the existing charges of abducting a minor and sent him to the prosecution. / Photo by Yonhap News

On the 10th, the police booked and detained Kim, Seok's biological daughter, on charges including child abuse resulting in death, considering her the biological mother of the deceased girl. However, the case took an unexpected turn when the DNA test results showed that Seok, not Kim, appeared to be the mother of the girl.
Since then, Seok has maintained her position that she is not the biological mother of the girl. On the 17th, while being transferred to the Daegu District Prosecutors' Office Kimcheon Branch after being sent to prosecution, she appealed to the press asking, "When I say it's not me, I hope you believe me sincerely," in response to a question, "Do you think the DNA test results are wrong?"

Mr. A also revealed a photo of Seok taken one and a half months before the girl was born. Regarding the photo, he said, "This is the appearance one and a half months before the supposed delivery date, and she is not full-term," and questioned, "If she had been pregnant, there is no way I wouldn't have known."
However, it is reported that the possibility of an error in the DNA test results indicating the mother-daughter relationship between Seok and the deceased girl is very low.
A representative from the National Forensic Service recently emphasized in an interview with 'Yonhap News,' "The accuracy of genetic testing can vary slightly case by case, but in this (Seok case), the probability of parentage was over 99.9999%."
