KB Kookmin Bank Holds '2021 KB Changjak Donghwaje Creative Story Contest'
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 24th that it will hold the 2021 KB Creative Fairy Tale Contest until the 16th of next month to discover fresh and talented new fairy tale writers.
Eligibility excludes established writers and is open to any Korean citizen interested in creative fairy tales. The submission category is unpublished creative fairy tales for elementary school students, approximately 30 manuscript pages in length.
To apply, applicants must fill out the application form listed under the ‘KB Creative Fairy Tale Contest’ in the ‘Notices & News’ section on the Children and Future Foundation website and submit it by mail along with their work.
Winners will receive certificates and creative encouragement prizes totaling 20 million KRW: the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award (1 person) 5 million KRW, Grand Prize (1 person) 3 million KRW, Excellence Award (2 persons) 1.5 million KRW each, Encouragement Award (4 persons) 1 million KRW each, and Honorable Mention (10 persons) 500,000 KRW each. Winners will be individually notified on May 17 and announced on the Children and Future Foundation website. The award ceremony will be held as an online live broadcast at the end of May.
Winning works (Encouragement Award and above) will be published in KB Kookmin Bank’s creative fairy tale collection titled ‘Fairy Tales Are My Friends.’ This year’s collection will be distributed to small libraries, local children’s centers, and multicultural families.
