Hansome, the First in the Fashion Industry to Launch Online 'Premium Laundry Service'
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Hansome is launching the country's first online "premium laundry service" in the fashion industry to strengthen its online market presence.
Hansome, a fashion specialist company affiliated with Hyundai Department Store Group, announced on the 24th that it will launch "Hansome Care Plus," a service that collects clothing from top customers on its platform "The Hansome.com," launders them, and then delivers them back to their homes.
"Hansome Care Plus" is a premium laundry service operated exclusively for VIP customers (The Star grade, Star grade) within the online-only membership (THE Club) of The Hansome.com.
When customers apply for the service on The Hansome.com website or application, a professional consultant contacts them via a happy call to guide them on "launderable items" and "collection and delivery methods." Collection and delivery are conducted contactlessly via courier.
For eight districts in Seoul?Gangnam, Gangdong, Dongjak, Mapo, Seocho, Songpa, Yeongdeungpo, and Yongsan?customers can opt for a face-to-face service where dedicated staff and service vehicles visit upon request.
Hansome plans to operate a dedicated logistics team for "Hansome Care Plus" and will install separate CCTV in the space where collected clothing is received and managed. To enhance service quality, they will develop dedicated packaging such as stickers indicating that the inspection and packaging staff have personally checked the product condition, hangers, and protective plastic covers.
They will also collaborate with "Green Earth," a global eco-friendly silicone laundry specialist, to provide premium-level laundry quality. "Silicone laundry" is a method where a "silicone solvent" penetrates the fabric during the washing process, reducing material damage and simultaneously coating the fibers to improve clothing care convenience.
A Hansome representative explained, "The silicone solvent decomposes into sand, water, and carbon dioxide after a certain time, making it eco-friendly, and since it is not petroleum-based, it is less irritating to the skin. Although it is 3 to 4 times more expensive than regular laundry, we partnered with a silicone laundry company to provide premium services optimized for high-end clothing."
