TIPA Holds Global IR Event to Support Commercialization of SME R&D Projects
First Support for Global Investor Presentation Targeting Overseas Investors Since the Launch of the 'TechUP Program'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] The Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs (TIPA) announced on the 23rd that it held a global IR event online for six companies participating in the '2021 TechUP Program' to revitalize investment attraction for SMEs conducting R&D.
'TechUP' is a program that serves as a stepping stone for companies developing innovative new technology products to grow into unicorn companies. It is an investment attraction fostering and support process to commercialize excellent innovative new technology products developed by small and medium ventures. Since 2018, TIPA has discovered and nurtured a total of 140 companies.
This IR event is characterized by being the first global investment briefing session for overseas investors since the program's inception, reflecting the demand of participating companies interested not only in domestic investment but also in overseas investment.
To promote this global IR, TIPA contacted various overseas investors, and investment officers from venture capitals in six countries, including the Swiss Investment Office, France's Creative Valley, Singapore's Quest Venture, and the Philippines' TechShake, participated online from their locations.
The companies participating in the global IR event were six companies: PamPro Co., Ltd. (real-time livestock biometric information collection solution through ear tag devices), Chemipolio Co., Ltd. (plant oil-based LOW VOCs bioplasticizer), Mirae Convergence Information Technology Co., Ltd. (AI-based smart factory construction solution for quality inspection collaboration), AgUni Co., Ltd. (ICT soil cultivation modular smart farm solution), Ineco Co., Ltd. (smart lighting block performing functions such as indoor air quality improvement and check, and hazardous environmental factor warning), and MCK Tech (transparent heating film using graphene or graphene composites). The event was held online at the Daegu Startup Campus.
Lee Cheol-won, CEO of Chemipolio Co., Ltd., said, "Due to the nature of our products, we must aim to enter not only the domestic market but also overseas markets," adding, "In this situation, it was very helpful to have a good opportunity to seek overseas expansion through investment attraction."
