Korea Railroad announced on the 23rd that it has established a 'Cyber Safety Emergency Control Center' for comprehensive management of cybersecurity at its Daejeon office.
The Cyber Safety Center set up in Daejeon is equipped with the same integrated security control system as the Korea Railroad Cyber Safety Center in the Seoul office, in preparation for situations where normal operations cannot be performed due to disasters, terrorism, epidemics, etc.
The existing Korea Railroad Cyber Safety Center was installed in 2014 at the Seoul office and has been operating 24/7 to respond to cyber threats against about 70 railway information systems, including train operation information and ticket reservation and sales systems.
Korea Railroad is the first public institution to duplicate its Cyber Safety Center between Seoul and a regional location.
