Two Taiwanese Fighter Jets Collide During Training and Crash into the Sea
[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] Two Taiwanese fighter jets collided and crashed to the ground.
Taiwan Central News Agency (CNA) reported on the 22nd that "an accident occurred involving side contact between two F-5E fighter jets belonging to the Taiwan Ministry of National Defense, and they are presumed to have crashed into the sea."
The radar signals of these fighter jets disappeared about 2.6 km east of Xuhai Port in Pingtung, Taiwan.
The Taiwan Ministry of National Defense deployed one Black Hawk helicopter and three naval vessels for the search operation.
Each fighter jet had one pilot on board, and it is reported that they ejected using parachutes.
One pilot was found unconscious, and the search for the other pilot is ongoing.
