[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Seongsoo Park) is opening an audience participation exhibition titled 'The Lake is Spring' at the 'Cultural Space Lake' located at Seokchon Lake.
Seokchon Lake has long been a representative spot for the beloved cherry blossom festival, but last year, measures such as the closure of Seokchon Lake to prevent the spread of COVID-19 left residents disappointed.
In response, the district planned the 'The Lake is Spring' exhibition at the 'Cultural Space Lake' on the west side of Seokchon Lake as a spring welcoming event in 2021, designed for easy participation by residents.
This exhibition is a program where the 'lake' poses questions to residents or tourists visiting Seokchon Lake, and participants respond freely (through drawings, letters, etc.) and display their answers directly on structures.
Through simple yet interesting questions such as “What do you think about while walking around Seokchon Lake?”, “When do you feel that spring has arrived?”, and “When was the spring of your life?”, participants are given a moment to reflect once more on spring.
This program is expected to be a refreshing gift to residents weary from daily life by providing an opportunity to share their own spring memories in a unique exhibition.
'The Lake is Spring' exhibition will run until the end of May, and anyone visiting the Cultural Space Lake at Seokchon Lake, regardless of age or gender, can participate. This year, it is recommended to quietly feel the spring taken away by COVID-19 at Seokchon Lake’s 'Cultural Space Lake.'
