Korea Macquarie Donates Scholarship to KAIST College of Business Graduate School of Finance
[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] Macquarie Korea announced on the 22nd that it held a scholarship award ceremony for KAIST Graduate School of Finance students at the Macquarie Korea office in Jongno, Seoul on the 19th.
Since the opening of the KAIST Graduate School of Finance in 2006, Macquarie Korea has donated approximately 1.6 billion KRW. This scholarship award ceremony was held to commemorate Macquarie Korea's 20th anniversary last year, awarding scholarships of 3 million KRW each to six KAIST Graduate School of Finance students.
To comply with COVID-19 prevention measures, the event was attended by Yonghwan Kim, CEO of Macquarie Korea, Byungjin Kwak, Professor in charge of the Finance MBA, and one representative student among the six scholarship recipients.
Yonghwan Kim, CEO of Macquarie Korea, stated, “Macquarie Korea cooperates with KAIST and the Korean financial industry to foster advanced financial talent, and has established a fund totaling 1.6 billion KRW for this purpose,” adding, “We plan to carry out various related programs in the future.”

Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the KAIST College of Business opened the first full-time MBA program in Korea in 1995. The Seoul campus operates seven MBA programs, including the recently launched Digital Finance MBA at Yeouido IFC, as well as master's and doctoral programs in Management Engineering, and three industry-specialized MS programs.
