Appointing 24 Adolescents Aged 14-19... Monitoring Child Policies and Proposing Improvements Until December
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) held the inauguration ceremony of the ‘2nd Gangnam-gu Children and Youth Participation Committee’ to improve the rights of local children and adolescents on the 20th at the Gangnam Youth Center auditorium.
Twenty-four youths aged 14 to 19, who were publicly recruited last month, were appointed. After an encouraging speech by Gangnam District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun via an online video, the annual activity plan was introduced.
The event was conducted entirely online using the video conferencing platform ‘Zoom’ in a non-face-to-face format.
Throughout this year, the Participation Committee will monitor district policies and communicate issues and improvement plans. In October, they plan to participate in the ‘Seoul Child-Friendly City Policy Expo,’ which will be held online, to promote their activities. At the closing ceremony in December, a results report meeting will be held, and the district mayor’s commendation will be awarded to exemplary members.
