S-1 Applies Vehicle Control Solution to Children's School Transport Vehicles
Ubis Confirms Real-Time Vehicle Monitoring with Advanced Control Technology and IoT
S-1 (CEO Noh Hee-chan) announced on the 22nd that it will apply its vehicle control solution 'Ubiz' to children's school transportation vehicles. Ubiz is a solution that enables real-time vehicle monitoring through advanced control technology and the Internet of Things (IoT).
S-1 Ubiz attaches a digital tachograph (hereinafter DTG) to children's school transportation vehicles to monitor vehicle status and check driving information such as routes, speeding, and engine shutdown in real time. This helps prevent accident-causing factors such as speeding and reckless driving in advance, supporting the safe driving of children's school vehicles. In one company, the accident rate dropped from 87% to 7% annually after introducing Ubiz to shared vehicles.
The government amended the Road Safety Act in January this year to mandate the installation of DTGs on children's school transportation vehicles. According to the revised law, newly registered children's school vehicles must be equipped with DTGs. The industry estimates that more than 100,000 children's school vehicles are required to install DTGs.
S-1 plans to target this market by providing ▲ a one-stop monitoring service linked with daycare center attendance notification solutions ▲ precise location monitoring based on 43 years of control expertise ▲ and stable service through nationwide after-sales service (A/S) infrastructure.
Previously, S-1 launched a 'Daycare Center Attendance Notification Solution' last year that allows parents to check whether their children have attended daycare. By applying Ubiz to children's school vehicles this time, the entire process from boarding and alighting to commuting can be monitored in a one-stop manner. During the first half of the year, S-1 plans to additionally provide a solution that allows parents to check boarding and alighting information of school vehicles via smartphones, helping parents feel more at ease.
The accumulated monitoring know-how through security services is also a strength. Ubiz enables stable location tracking through S-1's monitoring technology and control expertise. Companies such as BGF Retail, CJ CheilJedang, SPC Group, Maeil Dairies, and Samsung Electronics Service are already using S-1's Ubiz. It also has a nationwide A/S network. Many domestic DTG industry operators are small-scale businesses, resulting in insufficient A/S networks or discontinued management due to closures. S-1 provides stable A/S through over 100 branches nationwide.
