Seongbuk-gu Energy Self-Reliant Village Creation Contest
Application Method for Recruiting Households Such as Resident Groups of 3 or More or Shared Living Spaces... Project Funding Support for Up to 3 Years Upon Selection
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) is promoting the '2021 Seongbuk-gu Energy Self-Reliant Village' project to create a culture of greenhouse gas reduction through voluntary participation of residents in response to the intensifying climate change.
The 'Seongbuk-gu Energy Self-Reliant Village Creation Project' requires resident groups or organizations of three or more people to recruit households living in the same living space (at least 30 single-family households or 50 multi-family households) to participate.
Once recruitment is complete, villages can submit an implementation plan for energy saving, efficiency, production, and greenhouse gas reduction projects tailored to the characteristics of each village.
Selected villages will receive project funding support for up to three years. In the first year, up to 10 million KRW can be supported, and in the second and third years, up to 20 million KRW and 30 million KRW respectively.
Additionally, each selected village will receive expert consulting to discuss setting the village vision and project direction, actively supporting new village participation. Education on climate change, energy saving, and greenhouse gas reduction will be provided to village leaders to strengthen the substance of the village projects.
A district official stated, "Energy self-reliant villages operated through voluntary participation of residents are truly protecting the future amid accelerating climate change," and added, "We hope for active participation in the Energy Self-Reliant Village project, which protects our village on a small scale and our planet on a large scale."
