Gwangju Buk-gu Supports Export Companies with Overseas Standard Certification Fees
Reception at Gwangju Economic Employment Promotion Agency from the 22nd to the 16th of next month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Moon In) announced on the 21st that starting from the 22nd, it will recruit participating companies for the ‘Export Company Overseas Standard Certification Fee Support Project,’ which partially supports the cost of obtaining overseas standard certifications to revitalize exports of small and medium-sized enterprises.
This project is a new policy initiated in response to numerous requests from companies during the comprehensive survey on COVID-19 damages conducted last year, and the project execution is entrusted to the Gwangju Economic Employment Promotion Agency.
Eligible applicants are small and medium-sized enterprises with headquarters or factories located in Buk-gu, and companies selected as support targets through the evaluation committee’s review can receive support of up to 5 million KRW per company for certification fees, testing fees, consulting fees, etc., required to obtain any of the 444 types of overseas standard certifications announced by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
Costs related to standard certifications obtained within 2021 are also eligible for support even if acquired before the recruitment announcement, and companies with annual sales of 3 billion KRW or less in the previous year will receive 70% of the costs, while companies exceeding 3 billion KRW will receive 50% support on a differentiated basis.
Buk-gu plans to secure additional budget and expand support if corporate demand increases during the project implementation process.
Companies wishing to participate can apply by visiting or emailing the Corporate Support Department of the Gwangju Economic Employment Promotion Agency by the 16th of next month.
