Venture Business Association Provides Opportunities for Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Business Discovery
Monthly 1.15 Million KRW Internship Allowance & 400,000 KRW Mentoring Support
Credits Recognized for Students at 5 Universities... Deadline April 14
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Korea Venture Business Association is recruiting 50 interns and companies to participate in the '2021 Agri-food Venture Startup Internship Program' until the 14th of next month.
This program aims to support young people's successful entrepreneurial activities by acquiring practical knowledge in the agri-food sector and reviewing business items. It can also be used as an opportunity for career exploration through employment linkage.
For participating companies, the goal is to support the discovery of potential business partners and establish a virtuous cycle of collaboration between mentors and mentees.
The recruitment targets are ▲(interns) prospective entrepreneurs and teams (up to 3 people) aged 19 to 39 who have or are willing to discover startup items in the agri-food field ▲(mentor companies) agri-food companies with sales of over 100 million KRW and at least 3 regular employees.
If selected, participants will be matched and contracted to engage in internship activities for 2 to 3 months, working up to 30 hours per week.
During the internship period, participating interns will receive a monthly stipend of 1.15 million KRW, and participating companies will receive a mentoring fee of 400,000 KRW per intern per month.
After the internship, outstanding interns will be given opportunities for overseas training in advanced agri-food countries and selected as next-year project candidates for the 'Agri-food Venture Promotion Support Project,' which provides up to 30 million KRW in commercialization funds.
Completing the internship program allows for the acquisition of field practice credits. Last year, it was piloted only for students of Konkuk University, Induk University, and Pyeongtaek University. This year, the program has expanded to include the University of Seoul and Ewha Womans University, allowing students from a total of five universities to receive academic credit.
Han Kyung-ryeol, who participated as an intern last year, completed a three-month internship at Foodie Worm, an agricultural corporation producing pet food and snacks.
He mainly received coaching and feedback from the mentor company on prototype testing and research and development related to his startup item. In addition, he gained various competencies through practical experience and customized education such as corporate establishment and business plan mentoring.
Han built a smart city-type plant cultivation system that can be installed on apartment rooftops and building roofs in urban areas, and after completing the internship, he founded the agri-tech startup 'Newp'.
