'Victim Complainants Trio' Park Young-sun Camp Resigns? Opposition: "Just a Strategic Cut-off"
Gominjeong, Naminsoo, Jin Sunmi Resign from Park Young-sun's Camp
"Sentimental and Feather-Light Apology"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] On the 18th, the People Power Party criticized the resignation of three lawmakers known as the so-called 'three complainants'?Go Minjeong, Nam Insun, and Jin Sunmi?from the campaign of Park Youngsun, the Democratic Party candidate for Seoul mayor, saying, "It is correct to read their resignation as a strategic cut-off."
Earlier, the three lawmakers, who sparked controversy by referring to the victims of former Mayor Park Wonsoon's sexual harassment case as 'complainants,' all resigned from Park Youngsun's campaign headquarters on the day following the victims' press conference regarding the sexual harassment. Lawmakers Nam and Jin served as co-heads of the campaign headquarters, while Go served as spokesperson.
Kim Yeryeong, spokesperson for the People Power Party, wrote on her Facebook that day, "Did Park Youngsun think the unfolding situation would negatively affect the election if she bore it alone?" and pointed out, "Although Go Minjeong announced she would step down as Park's spokesperson, there was no sincerity to be found until the end."
Kim also criticized Go's earlier statement that she "constantly pondered how to heal the pain of the victims" of former Mayor Park's sexual harassment, saying, "The very thought that this matter required prolonged contemplation is astonishing."
She continued, "Although they agonized over when and how to express their apologies, the timing was too late, and at this point before the election, misunderstandings will only intensify," adding, "The manner of apology was also cowardly and lacked formality and respect."

If there was genuine concern, it would have been common sense not to accept the spokesperson position in the first place," raising the level of criticism again by saying, "Go Minjeong, Nam Insun, and Jin Sunmi, the 'three complainants' who are mothers, daughters, and women, should offer a profound apology to the victims and the women of this land."

Kim also demanded, "Not only should the party discipline the three lawmakers who inflicted painful wounds on the victims, but Park Youngsun should also clarify her stance on former Mayor Park Wonsoon's sexual harassment and gracefully withdraw from the candidacy."
