Vaccinations for Those Aged 75 and Over to Begin Next Month
On the morning of the 19th, a simulation training for Pfizer vaccine administration, scheduled to begin next month, is being conducted at the vaccination center set up in Yeomju Sports Complex, Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City.

According to Gwangju City on the 19th, starting from the first week of next month, vaccinations with the Pfizer vaccine will begin for those aged 75 and older and related elderly facilities.
Along with this, AstraZeneca vaccine vaccinations will be administered to special education workers, health teachers in kindergartens, elementary and secondary schools, specialized staff and nursing personnel for children with disabilities in daycare centers.
In the second week, workers at facilities for the disabled and correctional facilities will be vaccinated; in the third and fourth weeks, the targets will be elderly group homes, tuberculosis and Hansen's disease residential facilities, and homeless residence and usage facilities.
In May, vaccinations will begin for flight attendants and seniors aged 65 to 74. Vaccinations for seniors aged 65 to 74 are planned to continue through June.
In June, vaccinations are planned for caregivers for the disabled, elderly home care workers, teachers at kindergartens, daycare centers, and elementary schools (grades 1-2), patients with chronic kidney disease (dialysis), patients with chronic severe respiratory diseases, medical institution and pharmacy workers, police, firefighters, and military personnel.
A health official stated, "Depending on the vaccine supply situation, targets, timing, and methods may change, but vaccinations will proceed without disruption."
Meanwhile, in the Gwangju area, COVID-19 vaccinations have been underway sequentially since the 26th of last month. Among 29,938 eligible individuals, as of 1 PM today, 26,692 have completed vaccination, showing a vaccination rate of 89.2%.

So far, 175 adverse reactions have been reported after vaccination, with no severe cases such as anaphylaxis; all were confirmed to be mild symptoms such as fever and muscle pain.
