Yeonggwang-gun Goes All Out to Increase Population... Expands Support for 'Relocation Incentives'
[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seong-jeong] Jeollanam-do Yeonggwang-gun (Governor Kim Jun-seong) announced on the 19th that it will expand support for the 'Moving-in Incentive' after revising related ordinances to actively encourage moving into the area.
The support target is people who have had their resident registration in another region for more than one year and have moved into the area after the ordinance revision date of June 28, 2019, and have lived with resident registration for more than six months.
A notable part of the support is the settlement support fund paid to those who acquire nationality: foreigners who acquire South Korean nationality and register as residents in the county and live for more than six months will receive 500,000 KRW.
For general movers, 100,000 KRW per household is provided when forming a household; for company employees, 150,000 KRW is given if residing in company dormitories or employee apartments; students enrolled in local middle, high schools, or universities receive 200,000 KRW; and military personnel also receive 200,000 KRW.
All incentives are paid in Yeonggwang Love Gift Certificates.
All movers who have had resident registration in another region for more than one year and move in are given 20 garbage bags (20 liters) per person at the time of moving-in registration.
Applications for the moving-in incentive can be made by visiting the local town or township office within one year after six months have passed since the moving-in registration, filling out the application form, and submitting related documents.
