Finding Revitalization Plans for the Area Around 706 Daerim-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu
Initiation of 'District Unit Plan Reorganization' Service Reflecting Standards Following Relocation of Nambu Road Office and Seoul's 2030 Living Zone Implementation Plan... Expected Enhancement of Urban Functions as a Transit-Oriented Hub Through Urban Planning Foundation Establishment
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Cha Hyun-il) is undertaking a project to revise the ‘Daerim 2 Living Zone District Unit Plan’ to revitalize the area around Daerim Station, improve the urban environment, and implement systematic and efficient urban planning in response to changes in local conditions.
The target area for the project is around 706 Daerim-dong, covering a total area of 110,000㎡, designated as a living commercial zone.
Additionally, Daerim Station, a transfer station for subway lines 2 and 7, is located here, making it one of the areas with a high floating population within the district.
The Daerim 2 Living Zone District Unit Plan was last revised in 2016, and five years have passed since then. It is urgent to reflect the updated Seoul city district unit plan establishment standards, and the need to revise the plan to prepare revitalization measures for the area around Daerim Station has emerged.
Furthermore, considering the ongoing relocation of the Southern Road Office and the increasing population trend in the Daerim 3-dong intersection area, the plan includes the additional incorporation of approximately 30,000㎡ of nearby residential areas.
The district expects that systematic and continuous maintenance linked with the creation of a specialized street around Daerim Station will greatly contribute not only to regional revitalization but also to the improvement of the street environment.
The revision project will proceed with ordering and proposal evaluation by the end of March this year, followed by contract signing and commencement reporting, consultations and opinion gathering with related organizations, public inspection announcements, and submission for review by the Seoul Metropolitan Urban Architecture Joint Committee, continuing through the management planning procedures.
Afterward, the project will officially commence in April, focusing on the work with the goal of completion in the second half of 2022.
