View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 18th that it will provide 4.95 billion KRW in educational expenses this year to 114 kindergartens, elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as the Jinju Office of Education.
Based on the project plan approved by the Educational Expense Subsidy Deliberation Committee in September last year, the city received project proposals from schools at all levels and the Jinju Office of Education starting in January this year, reviewed the validity of the projects and the appropriateness of the budget, and finalized the budget support.
The educational expenses for kindergartens, elementary, middle, and high schools supported this time will be used for after-school classes aimed at improving students' academic performance and self-development, operation of cultural and arts education programs, and educational environment improvement projects to create a safe academic atmosphere.
The Jinju Office of Education will be supported for six projects including the native English-speaking assistant teacher invitation program, elementary and middle school sports gifted education program, and elementary swimming practical education program, as well as the Happy Education District project, which creates the entire region as a learning space together with schools and local residents to support the happy growth of children.
In addition, 600 million KRW will be provided for kindergarten snack expenses and kindergarten vacation period care assistant support projects, which have been implemented since 2019 and have received great responses from parents.
Moreover, besides the annual educational expense support, subsidies are provided for the construction of school playgrounds, gymnasiums, and cafeterias at all school levels to offer students a quality educational environment.
A Jinju city official stated, “Through the educational expense subsidy project, we are striving to strengthen the public nature of education for future generations of students and to enhance regional educational competitiveness through the universalization of educational welfare,” adding, “We will do our best to create a happy educational environment for students.”

Meanwhile, Jinju City is implementing various practical educational support projects such as school meal subsidies, new student uniform purchase support for middle and high schools, free high school education support, and educational support projects for children from low-income families, in addition to the school educational expense subsidy project.
