Gwangju Office of Education Holds 5th Regular Meeting of the Industrial Safety and Health Committee
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 18th that it held the 5th regular meeting of the Industrial Safety and Health Committee on the 17th.
A total of 16 user and worker representative committee members attended the regular meeting, spending time on preventing industrial accidents and maintaining and promoting worker safety and health.
They also reported on and deliberated the "2021 Full Survey Plan for Work Environment Measurement Service (Draft)" which was submitted after consultation at the working-level committee meeting on the 18th of last month.
This year's full survey of work environment measurement is scheduled to be conducted from March to October targeting 251 public schools, measuring exposure to harmful factors occurring in school meal (cooking) rooms based on last year's sample survey results.
In particular, the plan is to secure safety in occupations handling hazardous and dangerous substances (controlled substances), manage worker health, and measure the types, usage amounts, and times of hazardous and dangerous substances in schools at all levels to prepare follow-up measures.
Lee Kang-soo, Director of Policy at the Metropolitan Office of Education, said, "Through discovering agenda items and revitalizing the operation of the Industrial Safety and Health Committee, we will do our best to prevent industrial accidents, create a pleasant working environment, and maintain worker safety and health."

Meanwhile, in 2020, a total of 14 agenda items were submitted to the working-level committee of the Industrial Safety and Health Committee, of which 9 items were deliberated and resolved at the regular meeting.
