On the 63rd episode of KBS Joy’s 'Love Intervention Season 3,' aired on the 16th, a re-enactment drama titled 'Between Fate and Misfortune' was broadcast, reconstructing the story of the woman seeking advice.
The 26-year-old woman who sent the story first met her boyfriend after her only family member, her maternal grandmother, passed away. After holding her grandmother’s funeral and walking around in a daze, she almost got hit by a car, but her boyfriend saved her, marking the beginning of their connection.
The two coincidentally met again at a bar, and during the exchange of side dishes and returning the container, they exchanged phone numbers and started dating. Three months into their relationship, the boyfriend proposed, saying, "We don’t need a dowry, and you can decide the venue and date however you want. But will you keep wearing this ring? I want to become your family." The woman accepted the proposal.
What seemed like a sweet romance faced a crisis when she met her boyfriend’s mother. It turned out that the boyfriend’s mother was her biological mother who had abandoned her 17 years ago. Her biological mother had left her with her grandmother, cut ties with both of them, and did not even show up at the grandmother’s funeral.
The woman’s mother said, "Did you meet me to take revenge on me? How far are you going to go? Are you even going to get married?" She added, "I was never a good mother to you. I will remain a bad mother until the end. Break up."
Even after learning this truth, the boyfriend held on to her, saying, "I will embrace all your wounds and make you happy," but the woman ultimately chose to break up.
The woman said, "If this continues, I will be the only one who breaks the parent-child relationship," and "My boyfriend doesn’t know what it’s like to have no parents to lean on. I don’t want him to live like I did," pushing him away.
Watching this, Han Hye-jin said, "If there was truly no one else in the world, I would go straight ahead." However, Seo Jang-hoon judged, "It’s difficult unless you are going to live somewhere with absolutely no one." Kwak Jung-eun also expressed concern, saying, "The idea of just running away and living together is more of a fantasy. A relationship that requires running away itself becomes a weakness and is hard to sustain."
