[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] U.S. President Joe Biden said that the motive behind the Atlanta shooting incident, which left eight people dead including four Korean Americans, has not been confirmed. This reflects a stance of waiting for the investigation results rather than immediately recognizing the incident as a hate crime targeting Asian Americans.
President Biden conveyed this on the 17th (local time) after speaking with the Attorney General and the FBI Director, addressing reporters.
President Biden said, "Perhaps once the investigation progresses, I will be able to speak in more detail."
