Jang Je-won: "The Biggest Obstacle to Unification Is Kim Jong-in... 'Rock-Paper-Scissors' Would Be Better"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] Jang Je-won, a member of the People Power Party, criticized Kim Jong-in, the Emergency Response Committee Chairman, as the "biggest obstacle" to opposition party unification.
On the 17th, Jang wrote on Facebook, "The unification of the Seoul mayoral candidate is facing difficulties. It is truly regrettable. The biggest obstacle to unification is Chairman Kim Jong-in."
He claimed that Chairman Kim's excessive attacks on Ahn Cheol-soo, the People's Party candidate for Seoul mayor, are making unification negotiations difficult. Jang said, "The curse, close to verbal abuse, directed at candidate Ahn Cheol-soo has stirred up the emotional conflicts that must be most carefully avoided during the unification phase," adding, "People around Chairman Kim have been shamelessly making mocking and contemptuous remarks, becoming spoilers of the unification."
He continued, "If you have caused this much disruption, please stop now. It is truly bad."
Jang also stated, "Those who obstruct the unification of the Seoul mayoral candidates this time will be defined as traitors of the era and forces disrupting the opposition," and added, "According to recent polls, whether Oh Se-hoon or Ahn Cheol-soo / Ahn Cheol-soo or Oh Se-hoon becomes the unified candidate, the race is so close that no one can raise objections."
He further said, "Rather, wouldn't a 'rock-paper-scissors' method be a better game rule than poll questions that worsen emotions and cause hurt over the results?"

Jang concluded, "One should become the Seoul mayor, and the other should play a major role in the next presidential election, becoming a leader who will make the opposition a bigger and broader unified party. I hope that both candidates, by whatever means, will make a magnanimous concession and play a decisive role in opposition unification and victory."
