"Shinhan Card Launches 'Hondimoang,' a Life-in-Jeju Specialized Card for 'Living in Jeju'"
0.2% Cashback with No Franchise Restrictions, Up to 0.8% Cashback at Jeju Island Franchises
Up to 10% Cashback at Distribution Stores in Jeju Island, Discounts on Golf Courses and Public Transportation
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] A life-in-Jeju specialized card reflecting the ‘Living in Jeju Island’ trend has been launched.
Shinhan Card announced on the 17th that it will release the ‘Shinhan Card Hondimoang,’ which offers benefits tailored for Jeju residents, travelers, and customers who frequently visit Jeju Island.
The product name Hondimoang is a Jeju dialect meaning ‘gathering together.’ Based on an analysis of Shinhan Card’s local big data in Jeju over the past five years, the service was newly developed reflecting the consumption patterns of customers residing in or visiting Jeju, and designed as a customized product.
This card accumulates 0.2% of the lump-sum or installment usage amount as My Shinhan Points without any monthly spending or limit restrictions. In particular, when using affiliated stores within Jeju Island, an additional 0.6% is accumulated without any limit.
Within a maximum monthly limit of 50,000 KRW, additional points are accumulated: 5% at outdoor golf courses, 10% at About Coffee, and 5% at Jeju Shinhwa World. Up to 10% accumulation is also possible when using local distribution stores such as Jesco Mart, New World Mart (Martro), and Nonghyup Hanaro Mart & Club.
Considering the high volume of online shopping characteristic of the Jeju region, a region-customized service is also provided with a 2,500 KRW discount once a month to cover delivery fees for island and mountainous areas.
Especially from an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) perspective, a 10% discount on public transportation (bus) usage and a 30% point accumulation service for electric vehicle charging station usage are expected to help reduce carbon emissions and contribute to preserving Jeju’s environment.
The card is released in two designs inspired by Jeju’s nature, using eco-friendly Ecozen plate materials. The annual fee is 30,000 KRW for domestic use only and 33,000 KRW for international use (Visa Platinum).
