This donation amount of 20 million KRW was collected in the Gyeongnam region during the 'Hope Sharing Fundraising Campaign' held alongside the '2020 Good Neighbors Hope Letter Writing Contest' from March 2 to June 30 last year.
The event is hosted by Good Neighbors and conducted in cooperation with the Gyeongnam Office of Education. In 2020, approximately 140,000 students from 380 schools in the Gyeongnam region participated.
The 'Good Neighbors Hope Letter Writing Contest' is a sharing character education program that helps children reflect on and understand friends in need around the world and grow into healthy global citizens.
Children, the future leaders, watch educational video materials to look back on and understand the lives of global neighbors suffering from war, poverty, and disease. By writing 'hope letters' together with their families, they recognize and practice the value of sharing.
The raised funds are used to support children from impoverished families and provide hope scholarships.
