野 "102 Assembly Members Agree to Full Real Estate Investigation"... Ruling Party "Party Leadership Should Speak"
[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] On the 15th, the People Power Party pressured the Democratic Party of Korea regarding the land speculation allegations involving employees of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), stating that they have completed preparations for a full investigation by their lawmakers. They pointed out that since the preparation procedures are complete, the Democratic Party should no longer delay and should promptly engage in the investigation. The Democratic Party countered by urging the People Power Party to start the investigation rather than just prepare for it, calling for substantive resolution of the allegations.
On the same day, Bae Hyunjin, the floor spokesperson for the People Power Party, released a statement saying, "The ruling party, the Democratic Party of Korea, which is the main suspect in the serious crime of new town speculation, is making ridiculous excuses all day long, claiming that they cannot catch the thief inside the house because the opposition is not cooperating, which even passing cows would laugh at." He added, "The People Power Party has already completed the consent procedure with 102 lawmakers for a full parliamentary investigation."
He continued, "We have repeatedly demanded an expansion of the full investigation from the Blue House to the National Assembly and local council members," and criticized, "The government and ruling party's desperate attempt to just hold on until the election day only adds to the public's anger and fatigue."
He emphasized, "Stop deceiving the public with empty words and come forward to the real verification stage with the signed consent forms for information disclosure from all Democratic Party lawmakers," and urged, "Cooperate so that all possible investigations and inquiries, including those involving the Blue House and local public entities, can proceed swiftly." He added, "Let's stop wordplay, lies, and dissociation from reality here," and concluded, "Let's stand confidently on the verification stage."

Earlier, when the land speculation scandal involving LH employees became a controversy, the Democratic Party proposed a full real estate speculation investigation for all 300 members of the National Assembly.
In response, the People Power Party's floor leadership obtained consent for the full investigation, including the provision of personal information, from all their affiliated lawmakers through group chats on social networking services (SNS) or individual phone calls.
Choi Inho, the senior spokesperson for the Democratic Party, told reporters at the National Assembly regarding this, "If they have received consent forms, shouldn't the party leader or floor leader just say they will conduct the full investigation?" and criticized, "Their willingness is doubtful."

Senior spokesperson Choi added, "They only say they have received consent forms, but they have not said they will conduct the full investigation," and criticized, "They should promptly investigate according to procedures; I don't understand why they keep dodging and delaying." He urged, "Stop avoiding and have Emergency Committee Chairman Kim Jongin or Floor Leader Joo Ho-young announce it quickly."
